Richard Zegel

Chief Executive Officer at Cantata Health.

In his prior role as CTO, Richard was responsible for Cantata Health’s technology strategy for supporting both the inhouse infrastructure for Cantata Health as well as products marketed. Additionally, he was responsible for hardware and third-party software configurations to support the staging of software in both self- and cloud-hosted environments. As CEO, Richard oversees the strategic direction, operational foundation and future growth of Cantata Health. He is involved in strategic planning, product acquisitions, and developing vendor/partner and client relationships to support corporate strategy and individual client success within the acute and post-acute market.

Prior to joining Cantata Health, Richard developed and maintained software implemented in large, multi-entity healthcare organizations running on mainframes as well as development on Windows-based platforms at HBO and Company and IBAX Healthcare Systems.

Richard earned a bachelor’s degree in Information Systems from the State University of New York at Old Westbury. He is a U.S. Merchant Marine Officer and a licensed Captain, running ferries to Fire Island, N.Y. for more than 40 years.
